Start from the reference point shown on the shop drawing.

In short: level the first element carefully; every later joint depends on it.

Lay floor panels or base profiles in order, checking level and diagonals. Keep joint edges clean. Build walls from the specified corner, support each panel and close Cam-Locks only after the shaped edges are fully engaged.

Check vertical alignment and room dimensions after each few panels. Do not pull a badly misaligned wall straight with the locks. Find the wrong panel, obstruction or floor error.

Protect exposed edges and cover Cam-Lock access holes as instructed.

Step 1 — Floor panel installation

If the room includes insulated floor panels, they go down first. Skip this step only when installing onto an existing insulated slab — in the Frostbox range the "without floor" option is offered specifically for the Cold Room 80 mm configuration, where the building slab is already level, sealed, and thermally adequate.

  1. Mark the perimeter. Transfer the exact outline from the installation drawings onto the existing floor with chalk lines or tape.
  2. Lay the first panel in a corner, aligned precisely to the marks. This panel is the reference for the entire build — get it right.
  3. Check level in multiple directions. Shim as needed; never proceed on a base that rocks.
  4. Add panels, sliding each tongue into the previous groove and engaging the cam-locks until firm.
  5. Verify after every panel — edges flush, surface still level. Misalignment compounds with each addition.

Critical points: floor panels must be perfectly level or walls will not align; mate tongue-and-groove fully before locking; do not over-tighten; keep the protective film on the skins until the build is complete.

Floor levelness check — a laser level projects a reference line across the slab, with a ±3 mm per metre tolerance; on an uneven slab a panel rests on a high spot and rocks, on a level slab it sits flat and seated.

Step 2 — Wall panel assembly

With the floor complete (or the slab prepared), the walls rise around the perimeter.

  1. Start opposite the door. Working away from the door opening lets you finish at the door panel.
  2. Stand the first wall panel on the floor edge — its base groove accepts the floor's tongue (or sits flush to the slab).
  3. Verify plumb in both axes with the spirit level. Brace temporarily if needed.
  4. Lock to the floor to fix vertical position.
  5. Add adjacent panels, engaging both the vertical joint (panel-to-panel) and the horizontal joint (panel-to-floor) at each one.
  6. Continue around the perimeter, checking plumb at every panel. Walls grow more stable as they enclose.

Critical points: check plumb before locking — a panel 5 mm out of plumb at the base is 10 mm out at the top, and the cumulative error compounds toward the ceiling. Work in pairs (one positions, one verifies and locks). If a panel resists engagement, do not force it — clear the groove and re-check alignment.

Six-step assembly storyboard — 1 prepare a level, clean floor or slab; 2 lay the floor panels if specified; 3 raise the wall panels and lock the cams; 4 fit the ceiling panels; 5 hang the door and mount the evaporator; 6 seal the joints with silicone, then connect the refrigeration and commission the room.

Step 3 — Corner connections

Corners are where two walls meet at 90°, and they are the most common thermal-bridge and leak point if treated carelessly. In the Frostbox (MTH Algor) system corners are formed by the wall panels themselves — two standard wall panels meet at 90° and are drawn together by the corner cam-locks; there are no separate corner panels.

Corner typeWhereTypical treatment
Internal cornerInside the roomInternal corner profile, or overlapped panel edges, sealed with a silicone cove bead
External cornerOutside the roomExternal corner profile (trim) over the locked 90° panel joint
  1. Lock the corner joint with the standard cam-lock mechanism, drawing the two wall panels tight at 90°.
  2. Apply sealant. Run a bead of food-grade silicone along all internal corner joints; smooth with a damp tool for a clean, wipeable finish.
  3. Fit corner trim profiles (aluminium or PVC) where used — press or screw into place for finish and additional sealing.

With the floor, walls, and corners verified, the envelope is ready to close with the ceiling.
