In short: follow the shop drawing, keep every stage level and square, and check each joint before the next panels hide it.

  1. Accept and count the delivery.
  2. Verify the base and mark the footprint.
  3. Install the floor or base channels.
  4. Build walls in the numbered order.
  5. Fit the door panel as directed.
  6. Lift and lock ceiling panels with safe support.
  7. Seal specified edges and penetrations.
  8. Connect utilities, commission and record tests.

A pre-hung door panel normally forms part of the wall before the ceiling. A separately supplied frame may follow a different sequence. The project drawing takes priority.

The six-stage sequence

2. WallsWall panels around the perimeterPlumb on every panel
3. CornersWall panels locked together at 90° by the cam-locks + sealant (no separate corner panels)Tight, sealed 90° joints
4. CeilingCeiling panels onto wall topsNo daylight at joints

Six-step assembly storyboard — 1 prepare a level, clean floor or slab; 2 lay the floor panels if specified; 3 raise the wall panels and lock the cams; 4 fit the ceiling panels; 5 hang the door and mount the evaporator; 6 seal the joints with silicone, then connect the refrigeration and commission the room.
Cam-lock assembly in 6 steps

Before the first panel goes down

Confirm three things, or the build will fight you the whole way:

  • Floor level within ±3 mm per metre (laser level or long spirit level). An unlevel base is the single most common cause of a failed assembly.
  • All panels received, counted, and inspected for transit damage against the packing list and installation drawings.
  • Tools and lifting gear on site. Stopping mid-assembly to find a tool risks leaving the envelope open overnight.

Safety first

A standard 1200 mm × 2400 mm PUR panel weighs roughly 30–45 kg, but weight climbs steeply with panel size — Algor panels are supplied up to 1200 × 6000 mm, and the MTH Algor assembly card quotes 30–80 kg for floor and wall panels and 80–150 kg for ceiling panels, with temporary supports required on ceiling spans over 2.5 m. Never lift or position a panel alone — work in teams of at least two, use panel lifters or suction cups for thick or overhead panels, and wear steel-toe boots, cut-resistant gloves, and eye protection throughout.

Tools at a glance

Hex key set (6 mm / 8 mm for cam-locks), rubber mallet (never a steel hammer — it dents skins), 1200 mm+ spirit or laser level, 5 m tape, silicone gun with food-grade sealant, utility knife, marker pen, and a power drill for any penetrations.

Once the site is ready and tools are laid out, work through the stages in order — starting with the joint that holds every one of them together.

This guide reflects the MTH Algor cam-lock panel system supplied by Frostbox.
