Check the shipment before signing and again after unpacking.

  1. Photograph pallets and packaging from all sides.
  2. Note tears, dents, wet areas or movement on the transport document.
  3. Count packages against the delivery and packing lists.
  4. Open carefully and inspect panel faces, edges, locks, door and equipment.
  5. Report damage or missing items promptly to the carrier and Frostbox under the order terms.

In short: a signed delivery note without a reservation can make transport claims harder, but legal responsibility and deadlines depend on the contract and carriage terms.

Store panels flat on suitable supports in a dry, protected area. Do not drag or stack them on damaged edges.

Why the moment of receipt is the moment that counts

The MTH warranty conditions exclude damage arising from force majeure or during transport. Because delivery is made EXW (Incoterms ICC), liability for that damage sits with the carrier, and the manual is explicit that it must be reported directly to the carrier at the time of receipt. The same clause also excludes damage caused by improper installation or maintenance.

In practice this means a signature on a clean transport document is a statement that the shipment arrived intact — and the manual gives no route back to it afterwards.

Two more warranty conditions bear directly on delivery day:

  • Keep the paperwork. A warranty claim requires the warranty certificate plus the invoice or the transport document as proof of the delivery date. Without one of them the warranty cannot be validated, and any service visit is invoiced to the buyer.
  • Keep the accessories intact. The unit must be presented with all supplied electrical cables and accessories undamaged, and the manufacturer's seals unbroken — otherwise the warranty is lost.

Scope note: these acceptance rules apply where receipt of the materials and the later installation take place without MTH supervising personnel present — that is, unless assembly or on-site supervision has been arranged for your delivery.

Step 1 — inspect before you open anything

Crates and cartons prepared for shipment must be checked before they are opened, so that any transit damage is identified while the vehicle is still there.

The same check applies to shipments sent without packaging, where components stand on pallets or directly on the platform of the transport vehicle. If damage is visible at this stage, notify the forwarder who carried out the transport immediately, and notify Frostbox so the case can be settled.

Step 2 — inspect again once the packaging is open

After the packaging is opened, check again whether the contents were damaged during transport and handling. Undamaged outer packaging does not prove undamaged contents — a dented skin or crushed edge profile is often only visible once the shrink film is off.

Step 3 — check the contents against the paperwork

Verify that the items in the shipment correspond — in position, name and quantity — to the data given in the transport documents and on the packing list. Any damage or discrepancy triggers the same response: notify the carrier and Frostbox immediately.

One point catches people out: the documentation is not in the box. It is not supplied on paper at all — it arrives as attachments to an email from Frostbox: warranty certificate, CE declaration of conformity, the manual for the monoblock or remote unit, wiring diagrams, the execution drawing showing the panel assembly order, and the packing list. Open or print the packing list and execution drawing before the vehicle arrives, or you have nothing to check against while the driver waits.

The delivery itself is one main shipment covering the unit, and its dimensions correspond to the overall dimensions of the main unit.

Step 4 — unpacking, panel by panel

Remove the packaging in this order: take off the binding straps, remove the shrink film, lift the panels off the pallet, and set them down at the assembly location.

Lay panels flat on the floor — never standing vertically. Check each one for dents and transit damage as it comes off the stack, and count the panels against the assembly drawing rather than assuming the pallet is complete.

Step 5 — check the accessory kit is complete

Missing accessories discovered on assembly day stop the build. Confirm the set is complete at acceptance:

ItemWhat it is for
Pressure-equalising valveRequired on BT (low-temperature / freezer) rooms, which must always have a floor, a pressure-equalising valve, and a heater on the door panel
Cap plugs — wall and floorClose the cam-lock service holes once assembly is finished; no hole may be left uncovered
Positioning pinsInserted into the holes in the cam-lock hooks to help bring panels into correct alignment
Hex key, 6 / 8 mmSupplied with the room; operates the cam-lock (Camlock) hooks
Food-grade siliconeSealing the internal corner joints

Handling the shipment safely

Before any lifting or moving begins, make sure nobody is standing within the manoeuvring radius.

  • Minimum two operators are required for manual lifting and handling of the unit's components, and the assembly card calls for safety boots, gloves and safety glasses. For panel weights and the full PPE list see Tools, equipment and lifting safety.
  • Watch for protruding elements — exposed, they deform easily if knocked during handling.
  • Confirm the load is balanced before lifting, raise it only to the minimum height needed to move it, do not let it sway while positioning, and keep anyone not involved out of the positioning zone.
  • The room may stand on an ordinary floor, but a level bearing surface must be ensured and verified with a bubble spirit level.

MTH accepts no liability where applicable safety regulations are not observed.

If something is damaged or missing

Report it in two directions, at once:

  1. To the carrier who performed the transport — at the moment of receipt, with the damage noted on the transport paperwork. This is the step that preserves the claim.
  2. To Frostbox — in Poland, all warranty, service and complaint reports are handled by Frostbox.pl as MTH's exclusive representative. Do not contact the manufacturer directly.

Send to [email protected] (tel. +48 71 707 90 25): the product code and production date from the data plate, the invoice number or transport document number, a description of the fault, and photographs. Reports sent to that address are registered and handled in order of arrival.

Source documents

This article summarises the acceptance procedure. The source documents hold more than is reproduced here:

  • Instrukcja-Algor-Frostbox-PL01-2026 — the operating and maintenance manual: the full warranty conditions (every circumstance that voids the warranty, not just transit damage), minimum safety clearances, the panel-by-panel assembly procedure with drawings, electrical requirements, cleaning and maintenance plans, disposal, and download links for MTH certificates and declarations.
  • Karta_Montazowa_Algor — the printable assembly card: stage 1 covers the same unpacking and accessory checks, within a 17-stage illustrated sequence with per-stage drawings, a sign-off grid for date, contractor and signature, and a page on the five most expensive assembly mistakes.
