In short: confirm the delivery route, floor, space, utilities, tools and shipment before opening the first Cam-Lock.
Use the approved room drawing and equipment manuals. Mark the external footprint and door swing. Check that the floor is level, dry and strong enough, and that ceiling and service clearances are available.
Prepare power and drainage in the specified positions. Make sure condenser air can enter and leave without recirculating. Keep panels protected until assembly and plan safe lifting for ceilings and doors.
The five preparation areas
Each area has its own focused article. Work through them in order before opening any packaging:
| Area | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Floor conditions | Levelness, surface, load capacity, drainage, and whether you need floor panels |
| Space requirements | Working clearance, height clearance, panel staging, and delivery access |
| Utility positions | Electrical supply, condenser location, condensate drainage, lighting |
| Tools, equipment & safety | Every tool and lifting aid on site, plus PPE and safe-lifting practice |
Pre-installation checklist
Complete every item before opening any packaging. Do not proceed until all are ticked — a problem caught here is far cheaper than one found mid-build.
- [ ] Floor level verified (±3 mm/m)
- [ ] Floor clean, dry, and load-rated
- [ ] MTH minimum safety distances met (≥ 400 mm above, ≥ 50 mm side and rear; door side per the door chosen)
- [ ] Installation working space allowed (≥ 200 mm to walls, ≥ 300 mm above the planned roof)
- [ ] Electrical supply point identified (voltage/phase/amperage)
- [ ] Condenser location planned (split systems)
- [ ] Drainage route planned
- [ ] All tools, lifting aids, and PPE on site
- [ ] All panels and components received and counted
- [ ] Panels inspected for transit damage
- [ ] Installation drawings reviewed
With the site signed off, you are ready to begin assembly.
