The result is an initial estimate of storage capacity. It is useful for selecting a direction, but it does not replace a site survey or refrigeration design.
In short: check that the answers describe the busiest realistic period. Then compare the result with the available space, target temperature, deliveries and ambient conditions. Request a final configuration only after those checks.
Five important checks
- Is the meal count realistic? Seasonal businesses should include the busier part of the year.
- Is the business and menu type correct? These answers affect both total capacity and the chilled/freezer split.
- Are deliveries described correctly? Less frequent deliveries mean more stock held at one time.
- Will the existing equipment really remain in use? The calculator counts 70% of the entered volume. Do not deduct an appliance that will be removed.
- Have you read every warning? Warnings may identify a very small requirement or a case needing further review.
What information is still missing?
| Missing input | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product target temperature | Drives insulation and refrigeration selection. |
| Ambient temperature | A hot kitchen or warehouse increases the refrigeration load. |
| Exact room shape and dimensions | The same volume can produce several layouts with very different usability. |
| Product type and receiving temperature | A large warm delivery needs much more cooling. |
| Door size and real opening pattern | They strongly affect warm-air infiltration. |
| Floor, vehicles and point loads | These determine the floor construction. |
| Power and condenser location | They limit the unit and installation arrangement. |
Capacity is not a finished room size
A cubic-metre result describes required storage volume, not external dimensions. You still need space for shelves, aisles, evaporator airflow and panel thickness.
If the result is below 2 m³, cabinets or refrigerated counters may be more convenient and economical. This is a prompt to compare options, not an automatic purchasing decision.
Confirm before ordering
- product and target temperature;
- internal and external dimensions;
- panel thickness;
- doors and floor type;
- heat load and refrigeration capacity;
- access route, power supply and condensate drainage;
- availability of recommended products.
