In short: provide door maker and model, room serial number, clear opening, temperature, fixing method and clear profile photos.
Photograph the full door, corner and cross-section beside a ruler. State whether the gasket is push-fit, screw-retained or held by a strip, and whether a formed frame or cut length is needed.
Measure the retaining-channel path, not only the leaf. Do not remove a sample if it will leave an operating room unsealed.
What to record before ordering
Profiles differ between a chiller door and a freezer door — a freezer door adds a heated profile against frost. (Industry-wide, sliding and high-speed doors use different cross-sections again, but Frostbox rooms are fitted with hinged, semi-recessed doors.) Before ordering, note:
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Cold room model | Identifies the door profile family |
| Clear opening width × height | Sets the strip length or frame size |
| Door variant — chiller / freezer | A freezer door adds a heater profile against frost |
| Retention method — push-fit channel or screw | Determines fitting method and any hardware needed |
How gaskets are supplied
Frostbox supplies original MTH Algor gaskets matched to your door profile, either as a continuous strip cut to length or as a pre-formed frame for standard door sizes. Profile drawings for your specific door are available on request — contact [email protected] with the room model.
Measure before you order
A continuous strip must be ordered with enough length for all four sides plus a corner allowance. Measure the channel path, not the door leaf, and add roughly 100 mm of slack so corners can be eased in rather than stretched. Stretched corners thin out and pull back over the following weeks, opening a fresh leak.
