Algor rooms are assembled from modules, so the room drawing is the best source for exact panel positions and finished dimensions.

In short: wall panels come in widths from 400 to 1,200 mm in 200 mm steps, while panels may be produced up to about 1,200 × 6,000 mm. Transport and handling can impose lower practical limits.

Internal room heights follow 200 mm steps from 1,980 to 2,980 mm. Door panels and end modules change the final layout, so do not calculate the order simply by dividing room length by panel width.

Check both internal and external dimensions. The external footprint includes panel thickness, while the installation area also needs assembly and service clearance.

Long and heavy panels require a verified delivery route and safe lifting plan.

Internal vs external envelope — plan and vertical section of a cold room: each external dimension is the internal one plus 2 × t (t = 80, 100 or 120 mm); height without floor is internal + 1 × t, cold room 80 mm only. Example: internal 980 × 980 × 1980 mm gives 1140 × 1140 × 2140 at 80 mm, 1180 × 1180 × 2180 at 100 mm and 1220 × 1220 × 2220 at 120 mm. Rulers show catalogue sizes: width 980–3580, depth 980 and 1380–4980, height 1980–2980 mm, every 200 mm; depth never less than width.

How panels build into a room

Because the system is modular, room length and width are built up from full-width (and, where needed, cut-to-width) panels — the walls are continuous, with no separate corner panels — and height is set by the panel height you select.

  • Work to the modular grid wherever possible — it reduces cost and lead time.
  • Reserve bespoke widths for tight architectural constraints, where a full-width panel will not fit.
  • Height is a single choice across the room: pick one panel height from the standard list to suit the available ceiling clearance and the stored product.

For a guided layout based on your available space, use the Frostbox size calculator.

Modular panel layout — top-down plan of a rectangular cold room built from wall panels 400–1200 mm wide in 200 mm steps, for example a 400 mm panel at a corner followed by 1200 mm panels; panels lock to each other at every seam and at the corners, with no separate corner panels, and the door sits in its own door panel and opens outward. The panel module and the internal length and width are dimensioned.
