Most monoblocs are either a cold-room unit or a freezer unit. LMSEY is both: one machine covers the full −25…+10 °C range, so you choose the room temperature — not the hardware. And because the compressor is inverter-driven, it modulates output to the actual load instead of hammering on/off cycles.
This is Daikin's latest generation of wall monoblocs on natural refrigerant R290 — the same family logic as inverter air conditioning: quieter, steadier temperatures, lower energy bills.
Inverter compressor. Capacity modulates continuously to the load. Fewer starts, steadier room temperature, less stress on the compressor — and a measurable cut in energy consumption versus on/off units.
Dual-range operation (−25…+10 °C). Run it as a freezer today and a chiller next season. One product code instead of two.
Saddle or through-wall mounting. The unit straddles the wall panel top (saddle) or mounts through the wall — no roof penetration, no plant room.
Hot-gas defrost. Fast, energy-efficient defrosting with quick temperature recovery.
R290 (propane) is a natural refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential of 3. The synthetic refrigerants still common in older cold room systems — R404A, R449A — sit between 1,000 and 4,000. The difference is not cosmetic: the EU F-Gas Regulation tightens quotas on high-GWP refrigerants year after year, making older systems progressively more expensive to service.
A unit running on R290 sidesteps that problem entirely. The refrigerant charge is small (below 150 g per circuit on this range), the circuit is hermetically sealed at the factory, and there is no F-Gas phase-down clock ticking over your investment.
Saddle mounting drops the unit over the top edge of the wall panel; through-wall mounting uses a rectangular cut-out. Either way the refrigerant circuit stays factory-sealed — position, fix, plug in (230 V on single-circuit models, 400 V on two-circuit models).
Manufacturer-recommended room volumes (35°C ambient, PIR insulation panels):

| LMSEY1A13 ← this model | -25…10°C | up to 3.56 m³ |
| LMSEY2A19 | -25…10°C | up to 6.98 m³ |
| LMSEY2A25 | -25…10°C | up to 11.49 m³ |
